The short answer

Tier-1 makers such as Astronergy, Canadian Solar, GCL, JA Solar, Jinko, LONGi and Trina are all common on UAE roofs. Choose by the module, not the logo: a low temperature coefficient, low yearly degradation, a long performance warranty, and a model on your utility's equipment list. This guide compares makers; it is not a list of what Solar Oasis supplies.

What makes a panel right for UAE conditions?

A panel on a UAE roof works through 45°C afternoons, months of dust and, near the coast, salt air. Five lines on the datasheet decide how it copes:

  • Temperature coefficient

What to look for in the UAE
Around −0.3% per °C above 25°C, or better, so output holds up in August
  • Degradation

What to look for in the UAE
A low yearly loss, stated in the performance warranty
  • Efficiency

What to look for in the UAE
More power per square metre, which matters most on a small villa roof
  • Build

What to look for in the UAE
Frame, glass and junction box rated for heat, sand and, near the sea, corrosion

Choose the module, not the logo: two panels from the same maker can differ more than two makers do.

Tier-1
A grade given to the maker by its financial bankability, not to every panel it sells.
Temperature coefficient
How much output falls for each °C above 25°C. Smaller is better in the UAE.

Which makers are common on UAE roofs?

Tier-1 makers widely installed in the UAE include Astronergy (Chint), Canadian Solar, GCL, JA Solar, Jinko, LONGi and Trina, listed alphabetically. This is market education, not a ranking or a supply list: each maker sells several product lines, and the line matters more than the name. The panel brands for your system are confirmed in your proposal.

For wattage and efficiency, see our high-efficiency solar panels guide.

Performance warranty
Panels carry a 25–30 year performance warranty. The product warranty, against defects, is set by each maker.

Which panel suits which project?

The two common cases pull in different directions:

A villa roof

The limit
Roof space
What to rank first
Efficiency and a low temperature coefficient
Typical module
High-efficiency mono, for more power on the same roof
System size
From 6 kWp

Suits: Villas, where roof space runs out first

A large business roof

The limit
Budget per watt
What to rank first
Cost per watt and a bankable maker
Typical module
Tier-1 modules at a lower cost per watt
System size
25 kWp to 1,000+ kWp, priced per site

Suits: Warehouses and factories with roof to spare

Hot, dusty and coastal sites: check the temperature coefficient, a frame that does not trap dust at the lower edge, and corrosion-rated hardware near the sea.

Farms and remote sites: durability and a maker with local distributor support, because a replacement panel has to reach you.

How do we choose panels for a proposal?

Every Solar Oasis proposal names the panel brand and model; the exact equipment is confirmed there, never promised in advance. We look for modules that:

  • are on DEWA's eligible equipment list where the system is in Dubai,
  • have a low temperature coefficient and low degradation,
  • perform in UAE heat and dust,
  • carry long product and performance warranties,
  • have local distributor support.

We size and install panels for villas, commercial buildings, warehouses, factories and farms in all seven emirates.

FAQs

All 47 questions →

Yes, through the module. Higher efficiency puts more power on the same roof, and a lower temperature coefficient loses less output on hot afternoons, so the same roof produces more over its life.

It is checked model by model: each model is checked against DEWA's List of Eligible Equipment per project, and the exact panel is named in your proposal.

Yes. The same Tier-1 makers supply modules for villa roofs and for business systems from 25 kWp to 1,000+ kWp, which are priced per site.

Panels carry a 25–30 year performance warranty. The product warranty, which covers defects, is set by each manufacturer and named in your proposal.

Not on one string. Identical panels keep the string's current and voltage matched, which protects output and keeps the design compliant.
