Ajman accounts sit with EtihadWE. Systems here are zero-export, sized to your daytime load, with hybrid (battery) and off-grid options. Practical implications:

    Each is designed to EtihadWE's requirements, which differ from DEWA's Shams Dubai.

  • Backup power

  • What are Ajman electricity rates?

    EtihadWE's expat residential rates rise with use, from 23 to 38 fils per kWh, plus a 5 fils fuel surcharge, so each kWh solar replaces is worth most at the top of the ladder. We calculate from your actual bill, not a national average.

Future-ready for net metering

EtihadWE does not offer net metering today. We build every system to its DSS standards, so if a net-metering policy is introduced, the system can be connected without being rebuilt.

The three system types in Ajman

Hybrid, with a battery
Stores daytime solar so you also save in the evening and at night.
Hybrid systems switch automatically between solar, battery and grid with an ATS (automatic transfer switch).
Off-grid
Runs completely off the grid: the battery covers the night, and an optional generator covers any shortfall.

Businesses that run mostly in the daytime (typically around 8 am to 5 pm) use most of their solar as it's produced, which is where zero export saves the most.

Grid-connected systems are capped at 1 MW under DEWA and EtihadWE rules; off-grid systems have no such cap.*

Under EtihadWE's DSS, the 10% of connected load (max 1,000 kW) is a ceiling, not the system size.
