Solar Carports: Shade That Powers Your Building

Solar Oasis designs and installs solar carports: a roof made of solar panels over your parking.

  • Solar carports shade your parking and power your building, not just electric cars.
  • EV charger installation is a separate service, for homes and businesses, with or without a carport.
  • We build them for villas, offices, schools, factories and car parks in all seven emirates.

Shade is not optional in this country: every villa forecourt and office car park already needs it. The only question is whether your shade structure is a cost or an asset. A conventional shade sail protects your paint. A solar carport does that and powers the building next to it.

One structure, three returns

  • Cooler cars, protected paint

A solid panel roof blocks direct sun, and never needs re-tensioning or replacement after a windy season.

  • Power for your building

A two-car carport carries roughly 5–7 kWp of panels, and its power runs the home or business beside it every day, whether or not a car is parked underneath.

  • EV charging, as an add-on

A charger is its own service, so you can add one at build, or run the conduit now and add it later.

For homes

Your villa roof isn't always the right place for panels: water tanks, satellite dishes, architectural roofs, or shade from taller neighbours can limit it. The forecourt usually has none of those problems. A villa carport gives you:

  • A double bay carries 5–7 kWp, grid-tied like any rooftop system, and powers the house.
  • It's a finished structure that suits the house, with a steel or aluminium frame, concealed cabling and optional lighting.
  • If you want an EV charger, the cheapest time to add it, or its conduit, is at build.

For businesses, schools, and communities

Apply the same logic across a whole car park and it powers the building it serves, and becomes a better place for everyone who parks in it:

  • Offices & retail

Covered parking is a genuine amenity, and the canopy offsets the building's daytime load.

  • Schools

Shaded drop-off zones help power the classrooms, and give students a sustainability lesson they walk under every day.

  • Factories & warehouses

Staff and visitor parking can offset the plant's daytime load.

  • Fleets & logistics

Depot canopies power the depot by day and, with chargers added, electric vans during loading hours.

  • Mosques & community facilities

Large, open car parks are used in the daytime, which suits solar well.

Structural design, foundations, drainage, lighting and the solar are all part of the scope, delivered by our team in all seven emirates.

Engineering that survives UAE weather

Carports are structures first, generators second. Ours are engineered for UAE wind loads, with calculations for every structure, hot-dip galvanised or powder-coated frames against coastal humidity, and panels angled for both drainage and dust shedding. Cabling runs inside the structure, so no exposed conduit cooks in the sun.

What a solar carport costs

A two-car canopy, panel by panel

Estimate: 5–7 kWp is about 9–13 panels of a typical 580 W module, making 8,000–12,000 kWh a year at about 1,620–1,711 kWh per kWp (tilted panels). Your layout, wind loads and shading set the real count. Tentative estimate, depends on site conditions.

EV charging, if added

A separate service: a charger at build, or the conduit now and the charger later.

Every carport is quoted per site: the number of bays, the structure and foundations, and any EV charger set the price, and your proposal lists structure, solar and charging as separate lines. A conventional solid-roof carport gives shade and earns nothing back; the solar side of ours powers your building. Commercial canopies are priced per project (bays, foundations, chargers). The price on your proposal is the price you pay*: utility approvals included. Municipality fees and community NOCs are paid by the owner. *After your site survey.

It may. The structure can need a community NOC, which the owner pays. Where one is needed, your proposal says so.

No. Solar carports shade your parking and power your building, not just electric cars. The panels feed the home or business they stand beside, whether or not anyone plugs in a car.

Yes. EV charger installation is a separate service, for homes and businesses, with or without a carport. With a carport, the charger draws on the canopy's production while the sun is up and on the grid when it isn't.

Roughly 5–7 kWp of capacity, in UAE sun, typically 8,000–12,000 kWh per year, comparable to a small villa rooftop system.
